The flowers for a recent wedding at Cooling Castle Barn in the Kent countryside are amongst our favourite events of 2015.
The flowers, in the couple’s choice of a green and white colour scheme, were chosen to compliment the romantic, intimate and rustic feel of the barns and the beautiful rural location in which they are set.
Tall cylinder vases and complimentary bark wrapped low level cylinder vases were filled with stunning white Avalanche roses, mop head Hydrangeas in shades of white, cream, lime and mottled green, shiny green Hypericum berries, a hint of succulents and delicate trails of green Amaranths. Contorted willow and slender stems of umbrella ferns with their green fan like and frail fronds continued this rustic theme.
The top table was decorated with lots of matching small bark wrapped cylinder vases and votives topped with the couple’s chosen flowers, ferns and trailing Amaranths. All the floral arrangements were designed to be taken home by guests at the end of the day and it was an absolute pleasure to see the barns completely devoid of flowers when we arrived the following day to clear.
Wedding favours were set carefully at each place setting. These were made up of small pots of pretty little green succulent plants, in a variety of wonderful rosette shapes, wrapped with hessian and topped with Spanish moss. A mix of pretty little succulent plants were also carefully arranged over the cake.
All the floral designs were set against a backdrop of glittering fairy lights and flickering flames reflected through pretty etched glass tea lights, which gave the whole barn a warm glow.
This was a very magical wedding for a wonderful couple, and with so many special details, it was a huge pleasure to provide the flowers.
